Colour Selection
When selecting full colour print it is wise to consider the many variables of ink quality tone, colour, varnish and paper type. Many elements go in to the final mix and make your finished product both successful and professional or can result in a costly mistake.
Every step of the way your printing colouring project will be influenced by expenditure, occasionall y you will be able to cut corners by selecting a lower quality alternative (cheaper paper or ink) other times this will be a disaster.
Printing on a tight budget
We will always advise you if it is possible to select a cheaper alternative or a less expensive way to producing the same top quality result, if you are working with a limited budget please inform a member of the team when you place the order.
Laser Printing
One of the ways we may be able to effectively cut the final cost is to choose “Laser Printing” instead of using our normal press techniques. However, simply looking at the appearance of Print colouring on a monitor is unlikely to represent your final printed colour results; this scenario is further complicated when no “monitor calibration” has been carried out.
When we receive your project by email we have to investigate a number of pre-press possibilities to be certain the final result conforms to your expected result.
In a similar way a badly calibrated desktop printer, such as a laser or inkjet may well produce a very different pallet result to those produced on a professional printing press.
Accurate colour matching
Rather than leaving colour matching to chance and ‘hoping for the best’ we strongly recommend that colours be chosen from a swatch or other hard copy option.
We use a precise “Colour Swatch” matching system which shows over 1000 colours, each with its own CMYK colour value. The advantage of using this system is that we can choose and select a colour that is exactly matched to your product.
We must be aware of any particular colour issues.
Where you have a specific colour issue, for example a prerequisite to match a precise company colour or to match a previously print colouring job, this MUST be brought to our attention at the order stage.
If you have a swatch of the colour required please make sure we have a hard copy, sending it via e-mail may not be adequate.
